NDA Exam Pattern (Latest)
The National Defence Academy (NDA) exam is one of the most competitive and prestigious entrance exams for students aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces, Air Force and Navy. The exam is conducted by the UPSC and consists of two written papers followed by an SSB interview.
Written Exam Structure
- 1. Mathematics
- Total Marks: 300
- Number of Questions: 120
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Negative Marking: -0.83 for each incorrect answer
- 2. General Ability Test (GAT)
- Total Marks: 600
- Sections:
- English (200 Marks)
- General Knowledge (400 Marks) covering Physics, Chemistry, History, Geography, Current Affairs, and more
- Number of Questions: 150
- Duration: 2.5 hours
- Negative Marking: -1.33 for each incorrect answer
SSB Interview (900 Marks)
Candidates who clear the written exam proceed to the SSB (Services Selection Board) interview, which assesses:
- Officer-like qualities (leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills)
- Group discussions & psychological tests
- Physical & medical fitness tests
